_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;0px||0px|||&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">The rise of e-health platforms such as Doctolib in France and Germany have shown a rapid adoption by physicians and patience in accepting telemedicine.\u00a0 The availability of different <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.galitt.com\/en\/2021\/12\/28\/payment-trends-2021\/\">payment options<\/a><\/em><\/span> and processing methods are crucial to facilitate a seamless patient journey within digital health platforms.\u00a0 Collaboration between start-ups and Payment Solution Providers (PSP) has accelerated digitalization and improving the practitioner-onboarding process.\u00a0 In the U.K. and Germany, there has been a wider adoption of alternative payment methods within healthcare apps such as PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||0px|||&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">Even before the pandemic, the Health and Wellness sector has been one of the top priorities of government authorities:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">France has been a leader in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/adnews.galitt.com\/en\/articles\/details\/moneytrack-raises-funds-for-its-insurance-directed-payment-platform\">digital health<\/a><\/span> with public reimbursement for teleconsultations available since September 2018.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">Belgium launched the mhealth platform in 2019 to better integrate mobile health apps in the Belgian healthcare system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">Spain has been developing a roadmap for a digital health care system since 2010 and has accelerated its Digital Health strategy in 2020 in the adoption of digital health, developing infrastructures and applications to promote public health and well-being.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">Although nearly all European governments have drawn up a digital health roadmap, the level adoption still varies greatly, with France, Germany and Spain in the lead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_margin=&#8221;50px||0px||false|false&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #95c11f;\"><strong>The burgeoning Healthtech sector leads the way for patient digital payments <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.6.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||0px|||&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">Healthtech has never been more important, not only playing a major role in the digital transformation in the Health &amp; Wellness sector, but also serving as a catalyst in integrating digital payments into the patient journey. \u00a0\u00a0Healthtec in Europe had a banner year in 2020 with <a href=\"https:\/\/sifted.eu\/articles\/10-healthtech-rounds-2020\/\" style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">hefty funding rounds<\/a>\u00a0and many telemedicine and digital diagnostics startups significantly increasing user numbers.\u00a0 Investor funding in the digital health industry worldwide rose from $13.9 billion in 2019 to $21.6 billion in 2020.\u00a0 Investments in the first three quarters of 2021 hit $34 billion across 1040 deals, with the expectations to close at double compared to 2020.\u00a0 Telemedicine was at the top in the funding category in 2020 with $4.2 billion, almost 2.5 times as much as data analytics and mHealth apps, which placed second and third, respectively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #1d1d1b;\">Several big players that have already raised significant capital include UK-based telemedicine giant\u00a0Babylon Health ($1.1b), medical bookings Polish-based Docplanner ($141m) and French-based Doctolib ($267m), and French Swedish digital health leader\u00a0Kry ($568m).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;
